Comprehensive Reviews and Audits
- once the goals and objectives for a review have been
established, we develop a customized plan to conduct
comprehensive interviews, audits, reviews, and assessments.
IDT utilizes our expertise in concert with Industry
Guidelines, Standards, and "Best Practices" to develop a set
of recommendations that will assist in addressing the
identified concerns while respecting the client's individual
and unique needs. A comprehensive security audit usually
addresses the following areas;
Information Gathering
- is important for assessing the goals and objectives of the
stakeholder's assets.
C.P.T.E.D. (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) -
involves assessing current and planned lighting,
landscaping, traffic flow, and parking areas, at the initial
design phase or re-modeling stage.
Access Points and Controls (Interior and Exterior) -
reviews are conducted on locking mechanisms and hardware,
access control systems, cards (swipe systems, proximity
cards, etc.), gates, and fencing.
Systems - a review of your security systems and
communications.
Threat Assessments and Vulnerabilities - examines
concerns and exposure in the area of biohazard material,
physical dangers, employee, and corporate espionage.
Security - involves the assessment of current
security providers, their roles, and responsibilities.
Hazardous Waste/Material Handling - a review of
material/mail handling as well as waste containment and
disposal procedures.
Compliance, Training, Policies, and Procedures -
involves the review/assessment of general security awareness
to determine the type of training provided and level of
compliance. We evaluate how new policies and procedures are
produced and implemented.
Emergency Procedures Review – a review of the fire
safety planning, disaster management plans, IMS structures,
policies and procedures.
Design and Development Phases - during the design or
development phase of a project, we can assist in the
assessment of a proposed site, the area's crime patterns,
and the potential vulnerabilities to staff and public.
Recommendations can be provided on appropriate building
materials and engineering features to mitigate potential
exposure to internal and external threats.
Integrity Inspections - IDT can conduct unannounced
site visits to assess the current state of security.
Experience has shown that these periodic inspections are
beneficial in identifying vulnerabilities and level of
compliance.
